Reengineering your pension

The transfer of their pension rights to a Qualifying Recognised Pension Scheme (QROPS) is a vital consideration in our view for those who decide to live overseas or plan to do so in the future.

Premier Financial Solututions are a leading source of information and advice about QROPS.

The security of people's pension rights has become a matter of great personal concern.

Historically most have thought that if they have a deferred pension payable in the future from a final salary scheme with an employer who were, or appeared to be financially secure, that those benefits were entirely safe.

This has proved not to be the case.

We have seen many instances where pension schemes have been discontinued and "wound up". Far too often this has meant that those with deferred pension rights have their benefits much reduced. Public concern about this has led to the introduction of a Pension Protection Fund - which starts operating from April 2006. But all the same many professional observers doubt that this scheme will prove effective over the longer term.

If you have deferred pension rights from a defined benefit scheme, other than with the public sector, and you are concerned about the potential security of your benefits then you need our advice.

There are also many people who have personal pension arrangements taken out many years ago. Ask yourself the questions " how much is my pension fund worth" and, "how is my pension fund invested". If the answers to either question are "in fact I have little idea or don't know at all" -- then you need our advice.

The overwhelming majority of people with their own pension arrangements take little or no notice of it until they get close to the time when they wish to take benefit. By then it is too late if the fund is inadequate.

The proper investment management of the fund is vital to ensure that your long-term objectives are met in terms of providing an adequate retirement income. That, is something we can help you with and indeed that we specialise in.

Are you invested in a poorly performing with profits fund need advice about what to do.

Has your pension fund company being taken over by somebody who is unfamiliar to you and you're wondering where to go to for advice.

If you like our assistance to understand and how to maximise the benefit from your pension arrangements then please contact us.
